The Strawberry Studio: Your New Office-Envy

1200-675

Recently we made the move to the C4DI, in Hull's Fruit Market area. With great views across the Humber and of the city centre, we had to make sure the interior of our brand new studio matched the wow factor of the scenery.

The top secret project of kitting out our new office was left to Strawberry Directors, James and Dom, and we're pretty impressed with how great our new home looks….

James says; "Once the decision to move had been made, both Dom and I jumped straight into creating moodboards for studio inspiration. We knew that we didn't want "Google-style" primary colours as it had been done to death. Independently, we both came up with the idea of natural wood.

Alex from Red Frog Design was appointed to oversee the delivery and armed with our brief, developed what we've got today. A blend of industrial and natural materials, Alex often used one word when we met him. "Mega". We agree…"

Alex commented; " The brief was simple; create a cool, relaxed working environment for the team with the best use of space using natural materials, as well as reflecting Strawberry's personality. To also allow freedom for teams to interact and provide opportunities for simply 'pitching up' and working at, like the breakfast bar and long bench tables."

"The design inspiration came from a collection of modern working practices and the love for raw materials, natural light and textured surfaces such as the 'exposed plywood writable wall boxes', the 'tactile black foam pyramid acoustic wall cladding' and 'natural finished cork wall covering' which twinned perfectly with the building's already exposed concrete ceilings and clever use of panoramic full height curtain glazed architecture."

"Designing for designers had its challenges, but it was refreshing to have an open minded and creative 'sounding board' for ideas and concepts in the already cool C4Di building. The result looks great and it's awesome to see how the staff are using the zones and are energised by the relaxed creative spaces on offer"
